ABOUT THE SCHEDULE
The 2025 Annual meeting of the FRS & FRBMA will focus on strategic planning for leadership and collaboration across healthcare systems and industry to help radiologists deliver optimal patient care. This year’s theme is “Beyond the Screen: Creativity and Vision in Modern Radiology Practice.” Friday evening, exhibitors and members come together for the popular Wine and Cheese Reception in the Exhibit Hall. We are always very grateful for the exhibitors’ support of the FRS and the FRBMA and appreciate the opportunity to thank them personally. There are additional opportunities to interact with the exhibitors on Saturday as the breakfast and coffee break will be held in the Exhibit Hall, and lunch with the exhibitors allows for continued discussion and interaction.
The Radiology Practice Management Session begins on Friday afternoon with Janene W. Markuske, MBA, FRBMA “FRBMA Update,” Barbara F. Rubel, MBA, FRBMA “Radiology Reimbursement Trends and Issues,” Matt Reiter “Exploring Future Legislative Health Policy Trends,” Eliot L. Siegel, MD, FACR, FSIIM the Keynote Radiology Business Management Lecture “Key Trends in Artificial Intelligence,” W. Kenneth Davis, Jr., JD and Ramana Rameswaran, JD “Anatomy of an Overpayment”, and Carl A. Oxholm, FCPA, FCA, COC “Leadership and Emotional Intelligence.”
The Radiology General Session begins on Saturday morning with an outstanding lineup of nationally recognized speakers featuring: Sameer R. Keole, MD, FASTRO The Lawrence R. Muroff, MD, FACR, Radiology Leadership Lecture: “Radiation Medicine and ASTRO: Past, Present and Future,” Alan H. Matsumoto, MD, FACR, FSIR, FAHA “ACR Update,” Evelyn Y. FLIGHTS
Fly directly to Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport, located approximately 20 minutes from The Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort.
HOTEL
Welcome to Fort Lauderdale! Since this may be novel to many in the FRS, a brief guide:
The Westin is located on Ft Lauderdale Beach, a barrier island that looks over the Atlantic in front and the intercoastal waterway in the back. Think very beach casual with sand everywhere. The hotel connects to the beach by way of a pedestrian bridge from the 2 nd floor of the hotel.
A major dining /entertainment area is Las Olas Blvd in downtown Ft Lauderdale on the mainland, a short taxi ride. Plenty of high rises, businesses, and energy with a lot of very good dining options. You can also reach Las Olas by water taxi, with a stop near the hotel on the intercoastal waterway. If you have the time, the water taxi can also provide a waterside tour of FLL much like the vaporetto in Venice. There are many good dining options on the beach as well.
Reservations are recommended as better establishments are popular. A short list of food and beverage recommendations for your stay:
Las Olas Blvd
Bombay Darbar Fort Lauderdale– 1521 E Las Olas Blvd
The Fort Lauderdale outpost of the iconic Miami Indian restaurant. As mild or spicy as you want. Reasonably priced.
YOLO– 333 E Las Olas Blvd
American cuisine, lively bar. Has been there for 20 years, they must be doing something right.
Timpano Las Olas– 450 E Las Olas Blvd
Modern Italian. Elegant décor, can accommodate groups. Some dishes prepared tableside.
Lobster Bar Sea Grille– 450 E Las Olas Blvd
Upscale fresh seafood. Sleek, nice bar. Great seafood, tends to pricey.
Ukiah Japanese Smokehouse– 221 SW 1st. Ave
Newly opened in Ft Lauderdale. Sister restaurant to KYU, one of the hardest Miami reservations to get. Smokey Korean American, Japanese raw bar/street fare.
On the beach
Vitolo– Conrad Ft Lauderdale Beach
Ft Lauderdale outpost of Emilio’s Ballato from NYC. Great Italian. Walkable from hotel.
Maass– 525 N Ft Lauderdale Beach Blvd
FTL outpost of Washington DC-based Bresca. Also walkable. Not cheap, but not bad!
Coconuts– 429 Seabreeze Blvd
Good seafood on the water. Dockside casual on the intercoastal waterway, reasonably close to the Westin.
Casual / bar
American Social– 721 E Lasa Olas Blvd.
Moxies– 201 E Las Olas Blvd, Unit B1
Nube Rooftop– close to hotel, 26th floor on the beach!
