THE RESIDENT AND FELLOW SECTION: An Invitation to Submit Posters.

Dear Radiology and Radiation Oncology Residents, Fellows, and Medical Physics Residents:We invite you to submit a poster for the Resident and Fellow Poster Symposium at the annual FRS/FRBMA Meeting at The Ritz-Carlton Sarasota; The Westin Sarasota –July 14-16, 2023.  Please submit an abstract of 250 words or less using the required template to Lorraine Roger at:  lroger@edusymp.com no later than end of business June 15, 2023.  Include a complete mailing address and email address with your submission. 

The FRS provides a meeting related hotel expense stipend to the first 60 radiology and radiation oncology residents, fellows and medical physics residents who register and attend the meeting ($200 for residents that submit a poster or $150 for residents that do not submit a poster). Hotel receipt must be submitted after the meeting in order to receive either stipend.
 
You must be a radiology or radiation oncology resident, fellow or medical physics resident in a Florida program at the time of the annual meeting in order to be eligible for this stipend. Stipends are on a first come, first serve basis according to meeting registration. If your residency program is in the same city of where the meeting is held, you will not be eligible for a hotel stipend but are eligible for mileage and parking reimbursement.
 
  • Authors will be notified once a decision has been made regarding acceptance.
  • Accepted posters will be displayed at the Annual Meeting. Posters are to be no larger than 4’x4′.
  • Posters will be displayed throughout the meeting and must be removed by 8:00 am on Sunday morning. Any posters left on the display boards will be discarded.  It is the responsibility of the author to set up and remove the posters.

Residents and Fellows

We invite you to submit a poster for the Resident and Fellow Poster Symposium at the 2024 FRS/FRBMA Annual Meeting in Orlando, FL, July 19-21, 2024 

Abstract Submissions:

Authors are limited to one abstract submission and must be enrolled in a Florida Radiology Residency Program. Authors will be notified after the abstract submission closing date once a decision has been made regarding acceptance.

Online 2024 abstract submission Open and Close Dates:
Open date: January 1, 2024
Close date: May 15, 2024

Abstracts will be reviewed May 16 – June 15, 2024

If you submit an abstract, you will be notified if you are approved after the abstract review closing date of June 15th.

If approved, register for the meeting and present your printed poster during the poster symposium on Saturday afternoon 2:45 pm – 3:15 pm.

Poster Requirements:

  • Accepted posters will be displayed at the Annual Meeting. Posters are to be no larger than 4’x4’. 
  • Posters will be displayed throughout the meeting and must be removed prior to the Gold Medal Reception on Saturday evening and will need to be picked up from the registration desk area by Sunday morning. Any posters not picked up prior to the end of the meeting will be destroyed.

FRS Resident Poster Symposium Awards will be in the General Session room at 10:45 am on Sunday.

Stipends

The FRS also provides stipends to residents, fellows and medical physics residents who register and attend the meeting. 

You must be a radiology resident, fellow or medical physics resident in a Florida program at the time of the annual meeting in order to be eligible for this stipend.

$150 Meeting/Hotel Stipend – First 40 who register and attend the meeting –   Hotel receipts must be forwarded electronically to lroger@edusymp.com after the meeting. 

Programs that are located within the same local area where the meeting is held will only be eligible to receive a stipend from the FRS to help cover the cost of travel of their residents to attend the FRS meeting. Talk to your Program Director to see if you qualify for one of these funded spots.
